Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was appointed as the Corps Commander in the Silvan district in 1916. In 1908, this mansion, which was the home of Hazro Bey Hatip Bey, was allocated for Atatürk's use. Atatürk resided here for 6 months. It was expropriated and registered by the Ministry of culture in 1980 and taken under protection. It was restored in 1982 and opened to visitors. In 2006, it waa rearranged with the contributions of the district governor Veysel BEYRU and the Garrison Commander J. Collaner Salih AÇIKEL. Silvan Atatürk House was closed to visitors in 2018 so that it could carry out essential repairs.
